Countries playing cricket at an international level
The teams
with the status "test" (entitled to play test matches) are, in order
of seniority, Australia, England, South Africa, the West Indies, New Zealand,
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and, since 2000, Bangladesh. Kenya has the
international one-day status. Although Kenya is not allowed to play test
matches, just like the "test" countries, it does not have to play in
the World Cup qualifiers PSL Live Cricket 2018. Other cricket nations are Argentina, Canada, Chile,
Hong Kong, Israel, Namibia, the Netherlands, Scotland, Singapore, and the
United States.
The governing bodies of cricket
It is at the
Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) that the historic role of cricket legislator
comes back. At present, the International Cricket Council (ICC) governs
international cricket. Each cricket nation also has sports institutions,
responsible for selecting the national team and governing national
competitions. These institutions are:
• in England: the English and Welsh Cricket
Board (ECB)
• in
Australia: Cricket Australia (CA) • in South Africa: the United Cricket Bureau
of South Africa ( United Cricket Board of South Africa, UCBSA)
• in the Caribbean: the West Indies Cricket
Board (WICB)
• in New Zealand: New Zealand Cricket (NZC)
• in India:
the Office of Cricket Watch in India (Board of Control for Cricket in India)
