Detailed
description
Cricket is a
codified team sport in the United Kingdom. It is popular in the Commonwealth
countries, where it is one of the major summer sports. Cricket is played
between two teams of eleven players, on an oval field usually turf, which
measures 135 meters by 150 PSL T20 2018 SCHEDULE. The teams are normally composed of players with
complementary qualities: some are rather drummers, others rather pitchers some
are comfortable in both positions. Finally, the goalkeeper behind the box
office, with special protective equipment, is often a separate player. In the
middle of the field, there is a rectangular surface, whose grass is cut
shorter. It's wicket, or square or pitch. At each end of the pitch is a group
of three stumps, close enough to one another so that the ball can not pass
between them. The stakes are surmounted by two witnesses (bails). The whole
forms a wicket (wicket, not to be confused with the word synonymous with
pitch). The distance between the two wickets is generally 22 yards (about
twenty meters). The pitch is drawn on the ground by lines of chalks (creases).
A line of 4 feet (1m30) long is drawn in front of the wickets, it is the
popping crease, safe territory for the drummer, equivalent of baseball
baseball. The game is arbitrated by two umpires. The first stands behind the
wicket where the pitcher plays (fielding side), the other stands at about
twenty meters, at right angles to the other wicket.
Structure of a match
The encounter
is divided into innings (innings, or periods). The teams alternated at bat, it
is the equivalent of service to tennis. The team that beats is called in. The
goal of the team in is to score the greatest number of points (runs) before the
opposing team stops them. The goal of the other team is to get the opposing
drummer out as quickly as possible. In order for a team to go out, the goal of
the defending team is to make ten strikers miss their game, the remaining
player being called not out. Each period is subdivided into overs, which
consists of six throws of balls (formerly, when each country decided the length
of a round, they could go from four to six balls depending on the country).
